FT: Global Bonds: over 85% yields < 2%/year

When I see the chart below, some of what comes to mind is:
– Pension funds’ promises wildly inadequate
– Retirees are royally screwed, but don’t think about it on a daily basis
– Aggregate demand is not coming back as population age and retires
– Social clashes are just starting
– Be very patient

Desperate hunt for yield forces investors to take ‘extreme risk’
More than 60 per cent of the global bond market now yields less than 1 per cent
